68"x48"x6", Acrylic on unprimed canvas, 5 Boro skateboard, wheels, spray paint can, paint brush, wire
From the "Talk Story" series
I found this board in a dumpster on my walk home one night. As I concepted the piece I began to think of my time skateboarding in New Jersey and at the Brooklyn Banks here in NYC in the 1980's.
A Google search showed that the city has been using the Brooklyn Banks as a construction holding zone. They are currently unrideable.
New Yorkers are not shaken very easily and though they are temporarily out of service we are Not Broken.
